That's a really cool commercial based on mainly a great idea with direct relation to the name of the product and an ambitious execution - and it is now travelling the world virally!

This time in our around the world tour we're going take a look at Malaysian auto ads. You get two versions of ads that just make you smile :)

 

 

These ads are a part of a campaign for Toyota Avanza, which I imagine is some sort of a compact seven seater.

This time around I'm showing you an old Icelandic ad I came across a few days ago. It's an ad we created while I was working at Hvita Husid ad agency in 1999 and is for the Icelandic Lottery - advertising their subscription program.

Some marketing methods simply work better than others, like when choosing your product is simply so much better than the alternative. This is an ad from Arab Dairy in Egypt for their Panda milk and cheese products.

 

So if someone offers you Panda - you know what to expect!

Around the World in 80 Commercials - Denmark!

The liberal Danes have launched a new campaign in the aim of getting more people into the health industry. Having a reputation for their film making they have sought inspiration to the popular hospital programs on TV. Like any Danish film clip, this does of course contain some nudity, even though it's an ad from the ministry of health and the ministry of education.

The ads are debated but the results are clear. Number of applications to the health departments in the university are up 400%.

I'm not going to say anything about this ad. It just has to be watched.

It's a very strong ad and I'm interested in hearing what thoughts pop up when you watch this ad, and what you think would be the reaction in your country if it was aired there. If you read Spanish, you can read more about the ad here.

Around the World in 80 Commercials - Belgium

 This one has become a classic. First aired in Dutch, and later in French, it has now got global attention with millions of views on YouTube. And fully deserves it.

Condom ads seem to be very popular for some weird reason. Maybe it just proves that what people tend to feel awkward and shy about has a great potential for a humorous approach.
