As you may know I bought a new computer last monday. It's the new MacBook Air. And I love it. Apple is an experience. My two oldest kids bought new laptops recently, both PCs (they have to be allowed to learn the hard way). The experience of unwrapping their computers and mine can't be compared.
The MacBook Air comes in a box that looks like it contains something very precious. It could be very expensive wine, a stereo from Bang&Olufsen or anything else. The box was heavy, black and beautiful, not like the brown cardboard boxes the other computers had been in. The manual was not a stack of manuals in 34 languages, but a single one in a black envelope. All the process of buying, unwrapping and starting the computer was a pleasure. Once again I got convinced that Apple was the right choice.
It's amazing how Apple just seems to get it, while the competition doesn't. Below is a video that you may have seen, about what the packages for the iPod would have looked like if designed by Microsoft.
Keep it simple!

Disclosure: No, I don't get paid from Apple nor do I have a seat on the board or anything like that (but if there's an opening on the board, I'm up for it ;)

I must admit Apple has very simple and practical advertising policies. They stand out (and away) from the normal, and they do it well.
Apple is usually a case study for me, and I learn a bunch.
