Imark 2008, the Icelandic Advertising Awards, was held last night. A lot of great ads were competing for the awards and I'm going to show you a few examples of the winning ads.
The best TV-ad from 2007 was "The Last Supper" from Siminn, an Icelandic phone company. A controversial and debated ad that got a lot of publicity and reaction from the society.
The ad was made by Ennemm advertising agency. I'll show you another interesting ad from Ennemm that was nominated, starring John Cleese where he gives his 2 cents on marketing in Iceland.
Hvíta húsið, my old agency, took home two awards, for the best event which was Glitnir's Reykjavik Marathon and the best logo design for Samtökin 78, the National Organization for Lesbians and Gay Men. But the grand winner of the night was Jónsson & LeMacks which took 8 out of 14 awards home. You can look at some of their work on their website www.jl.is.
Congratulations to the winners and nominees.
